Youth Workshop A CEO’s Workshop for the Next Generation

The Future Doesn’t
Build Itself.

Let’s Help the Next Generation Build It.

Technology is changing how we learn, work, and solve problems. Help your child move from using technology to understanding it—and building something of their own.

Why we’re doing this

Technology Should Inspire Possibility,
Not Intimidation.

Children are surrounded by technology. Understanding how it works is a different experience from simply using it.

Youth Workshop is a free, hands-on educational program led by the experience and technical vision of Jeffery Williams, CEO and Principal Architect of JWilliams & Associates. We introduce real-world concepts in an engaging, age-appropriate format.

Our goal is curiosity, confidence, independent thinking, and practical problem-solving. Not every student will become a programmer. Whether they choose medicine, engineering, the arts, business, or a skilled trade, the ability to question, evaluate, and create can open doors.

This is our contribution to the next generation: the opportunity to discover what they can build.

Six areas. A world to explore.

From Curious Questions
to Working Applications.

Understandable explanations. Real hands-on activities. A progression from asking thoughtful questions to creating practical projects.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Understanding
Artificial Intelligence

Discover what’s behind the conversation.

Explore what AI is, what language models do, and how they generate responses. Learn why an intelligent-looking answer isn’t always correct.

02 / QUESTION

Asking
Better Questions

Great results begin with better thinking.

Discover how context, specificity, follow-up questions, and clear instructions shape an AI system’s answers.

03 / EXPERIMENT

Building a
Personal AI Studio

Your computer. Your AI. Your experiments.

With parental guidance, eligible participants will install Ollama and run a compatible small Qwen model locally. Hardware requirements vary; families will receive preparation guidance for their equipment.

04 / CREATE

Creating Your
First Application

Turn an idea into something that works.

Describe a software idea, use AI to help develop an initial version, run it, identify problems, and improve its functionality.

05 / IMPROVE

Testing, Debugging
& Improving

The first answer is rarely the final answer.

Test software, recognize unexpected behavior, investigate bugs, and make an application better through experimentation.

06 / CONNECT

Thinking
About Tomorrow

Technology solves human problems.

Explore how AI and software connect to healthcare, engineering, finance, manufacturing, education, business, and tomorrow’s careers.

The hands-on experience

Don’t Just Watch Technology.
Build With It.

Illustration of two children building a game together with AI assistance

All workshop activities are conducted remotely in English. Most workshops use on-screen written instructions and illustrations that show students what to do, step by step. Some workshops will include video-led instruction or live presentations.

Guided exercises give students room to experiment, ask questions, and build working projects—not simply watch presentations or memorize definitions.

A trivia game, flashcard tool, homework organizer, or interactive learning program can become a first project. Parents are encouraged to join the experience.

  1. 01

    Imagine It

    Choose an idea worth exploring.

  2. 02

    Describe It

Explain its purpose, features, and behavior.

  3. 03

    Build It

Create a first version with guided AI assistance.

  4. 04

    Test It

Run it. Notice what works and what doesn’t.

  5. 05

    Make It Better

Ask again, fix problems, and improve.

  6. 06

    Show What You Built

Demonstrate it to a parent or another learner.

Their own ideas can become real, functioning technology.

Room to grow

Different Ages. Different Challenges.
The Same Opportunity to Explore.

AGES 7–9

Discover & Imagine

A welcoming introduction for younger learners.

  • Understand computers and AI.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and explore creative challenges.
  • Spot mistakes in AI responses.
  • Practice problem-solving through simple, adult-guided projects.
What they take away

Curiosity, confidence, and the excitement of discovering how technology works.

AGES 10–12

Explore & Build

Practical experimentation becomes a first project.

  • Explore local language models.
  • Try parent-assisted Ollama and Qwen setup.
  • Practice prompting and simple program logic.
  • Create, test, and improve interactive applications.
What they take away

An initial functional software project—and an understanding of how it works.

AGES 13–15

Design & Develop

More involved challenges for developing thinkers.

  • Explore AI-assisted development and programming fundamentals.
  • Work with application design, data, and logic.
  • Practice debugging, testing, and responsible AI development.
  • Improve applications through iteration.
What they take away

A more complete application and an understanding of the decisions behind its design.

Designed primarily for ages 7–15. Curious learners of all ages are welcome. No prior programming experience is required.

Learn together

Parents Welcome.
Curiosity Encouraged.

You don’t need to be a programmer. Learning alongside your child can make the experience more meaningful.

Join workshops, ask questions, help with setup, and guide new experiments. Younger participants need more direct adult assistance; older students may work more independently.

Parents or guardians remain responsible for supervising device use, software installation, internet access, and age-appropriate AI interactions.

Prepare with confidence

Start With the Computer
You Already Have.

Some introductory activities need only a web browser. More advanced exercises use software running locally on a compatible Windows, macOS, or Linux computer.

Ollama and Qwen requirements depend on the processor, memory, operating system, and storage. The waiting list asks about your computer so we can provide suitable preparation guidance.

No specialized AI workstation is required for every workshop. Local model compatibility varies; every model will not run on every computer.

Guided local AI and frontier-model access. Students will be walked through installing and running their own AI models. At a later stage in the lessons, eligible participants will receive a set token allowance to access JWA’s internal frontier model through our Web API and build more complex applications. We’ll guide them through the entire process. Frontier-model API access will be age-restricted, with age-appropriate constraints on the features and actions available.

Recognize the accomplishment

Every Achievement
Deserves Recognition.

A Digital Certificate of Completion for Every Student Who Finishes the Program.

Curiosity, persistence, and effort deserve recognition. Students who complete the required workshop activities will receive a personalized digital certificate from JWilliams & Associates.

Families will be able to save, print, or share it to celebrate practical learning and a commitment to developing technology skills.

The next generation starts here

Every Great Idea
Begins With Curiosity.

A child asking better questions today may become tomorrow’s engineer, physician, scientist, entrepreneur, or inventor. We can’t predict every technology they’ll encounter. We can help them develop the confidence to understand, question, and create with it.

Let’s help the next generation build something remarkable.
